The Hourigan Society We have established the Hourigan Society to recognize those individuals who have invested in the future of our schools by naming Broome County Catholic Schools as a beneficiary in their estate plans. The name honors Father James Hourigan, the third resident priest arriving in 1847, who was the driving force in establishing Catholic education in Broome County. The Hourigan Society recognizes and salutes those visionaries who have given unselfishly of their resources to further the work and goals of the Catholic Schools of Broome County. Membership in the Hourigan Society is available to alumni, parents and friends who have designated Catholic Schools of Broome County as the beneficiary of a bequest, trust, retirement plan or life insurance policy, or who have made other estate provisions for our schools. Members will be eligible to attend an invitation only annual celebration breakfast. I'm pleased to join others in the long-range support of Catholic Schools of Broome County.
