The Catholic Schools of Broome County provide a comprehensive and challenging K-12 education. They operate at the direction of a local school board and the Diocese of Syracuse. The Catholic Education Foundation of the Southern Tier has been established to support our schools through the development of alternative funding sources as defined by the donors. The Foundation is governed by a local board of directors working with the public to advance our educational institution. We have established a menu of charitable giving options and developed a process to turn dreams into reality by providing philanthropic leadership and service. Endowment Building
In today’s competitive economic market it is imperative that institutions for private education build endowments to provide alternative funding sources to support institutional advancement. For years many private schools, K-12 and post secondary insitutions, have recognized the importance of such a tool. Consider the thousands of other schools with endowment to see the priority given to, and effectiveness of, endowment building.

Today there is a new trend among public schools, to follow this practice and to develop foundations to support individual school districts and in some instances individual schools.

The board of directors of the Catholic Education Foundation of the Southern Tier believes we need to establish endowment funds in support of the Catholic Schools of Broome County. Now, through the establishment of the Foundation and sound planning, the board is offering philanthropic leadership along with charitable services to establish funds for a brighter tomorrow.

Services
The Catholic Education Foundation of the Southern Tier serves its donors by providing philanthropic leadership. We offer donors a “one-stop” approach providing charitable and estate planning, fund design, fund management and administration, and much more.

Foundation funds are endowed in perpetuity where each year fund income supports the Catholic Schools of Broome County. Fund distributions are defined by the Foundation’s Spending and Investment Polices, which consider inflation factors and are reviewed annually. The Foundation’s staff works closely with donors in detailing charitable giving to insure their wishes are met. We take pride in delivering services that guarantee the most efficient use of our donors’ resources.

We believe our Catholic schools provide the best possible education.
